Tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting and booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select your dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Meridian Plaza, pools, lovely decor, new, nice! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is suitable for your family.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
