How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. MYRTLE BEACH COASTAL CHARM: Oceanfront Condo with Resort-Style Amenities has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is right for your vacation.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Tips to have a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
