Vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Get the best rental home value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your search:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Myrtle Beach Condo, Ocean View Shore Drive! Free Wifi has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before booking your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
