Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Find your best deal:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the largest rental home within your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Planning and picking the rightrental:
- Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Myrtle Beach Condo, Ocean View Shore Drive! Free Wifi has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Additional considerations:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
