Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Get the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Selecting and booking yourrental home:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to dates and a spending budget.
- Ocean view condo at beachfront resort with 6 pools has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a great stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
