How to book the best vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- To get the best value, shift your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the perfect rental:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Breathtaking Oceanfront Suite @ Grand Cayman! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is right for your family.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Have a great stay:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
