Tips for getting the perfect vacation home experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- To find the best rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by having your family choose the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. A420 at The Myrtle Beach Resort: Cozy Condo with Nice Ocean View has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
