Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.

How to select the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • First and foremost, have your group choose a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. B117 at the Myrtle Beach Resort: Shoreline Serenity by the Sea has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
