Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the largest rental home within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best vacation home:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Myrtle Beach Resort Corner Oceanfront Studio Suite has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Know before you go:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
