Rental booking tips and tricks:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.
Choosing the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to the best dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Myrtle Beach Resort Corner Oceanfront Studio Suite has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
