Our top Vacation rental tips:
Finding the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to select the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by selecting your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Myrtle Beach Resort RT1512 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
