Our top Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by choosing trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Myrtle Beach Resort RT1615 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation group.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
