How to get the best vacation home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Myrtle Beach Resort RT2202 has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
