Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have deals for local shops and restaurants.

Choosing and booking the perfectvacation home:

  • Begin by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Myrtle Beach Resort Unit 6201 - Ocean Getaway has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
