How to book the best vacation property experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Myrtle Beach Villas 401A - 4 Bedroom Condo has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
