Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Sticking to your budget:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose and book the perfectrental home:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Myrtlewood, Magnolia Pointe, Golf, Close to Beach, Ripken Fields Close, Wifi has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
- Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
