Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.

- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Myrtle Beach Resort-Direct oceanfront- free waterpark\/free parking\/grills has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
