Vacation rental tips:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the best vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Spectacular Ocean View, Swimming Pools, 4th Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the host before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges applied to your invoice.
Know before you go:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
