How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Getting the best value:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Planning and picking the bestrental:
- First, have your family choose vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Beautiful 2BD\/2BA 9th Floor Oceanfront Condo in Ocean Creek-57 Acre Gated Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
