Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • To find the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, picking, and booking the perfectrental:

  • First and foremost, have your family agree to vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. New, Beautiful Decor, Meridian Plaza, Pools, Nice! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
