Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking yourrental home:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. New Direct Oceanfront @Sea Mist, Remodeled, Pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before booking the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More considerations:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
