Tips to get the very best vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- First and foremost, have your family decide on vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. New Direct Oceanfront @Sea Mist, Remodeled, Pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is suitable for your group.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your visit, note any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
