Our top Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Choosing and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose vacation week and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. New Direct Oceanfront Updated Corner Monterey Bay! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your family.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. message the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
