Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the best value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the largest rental for your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, picking, and booking yourvacation home:
- First, have your group commit to date ranges and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. New High Floor, Direct Ocean View, King Bed,Pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Additional considerations:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
