Tricks and tips for getting the best rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the best Myrtle Beach rental:
- Start by having your group commit to the best dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. New High Floor, Direct Ocean View, King Bed,Pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation family.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
