Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Large Oceanfront 3 Bed Unit (3rd Floor) - by Luxury Beach Rentals has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your contract.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
During your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
