How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to pick the perfect rental home:
- Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Ocean Forest Villas Unit B116 - Ocean view has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
Tips to have a smooth stay:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
