Rental booking tips:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Ocean Forest Villas Unit D215 - Ocean view has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your family.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon check in. text the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
