Rental booking tips:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Ocean Forest Villas Unit D215 - Ocean view has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is best for your group.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or could be applied to your contract.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you love, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, record any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
