Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.

- Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
