Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- To get the best vacation home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Newly Renovated + Cozy Retreat in Ocean Lakes has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your group.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
