How to get the best vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your rental in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Newly renovated, modern, ocean front, prime location! Walk to everything! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
