Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, shift your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Ocean Creek Tower South 2 BR\/2BA Penthouse has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
