Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Ocean Creek Tower South 2 BR\/2BA Penthouse has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your trip.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you crave, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
