Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Selecting and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Ocean Dunes Villas #35, best location by the beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before booking your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
