Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick a perfectrental:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Ocean Forest Villas Unit D304 - Ocean view has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
More tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
