Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Choosing the best rental:
- To start, have your family agree to the best dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Ocean Forest Villas Unit D304 - Ocean view has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is best for your trip.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
