How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, picking, and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to date ranges and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Ocean Lakes - Site 1472 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you crave, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Additional considerations:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
