How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing and booking your prefectrental home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Ocean Lakes - Site B3 - One row back from the Beach! Walk to all OL amenities! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or could be applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
