Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose and book the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • First and foremost, have your group choose date ranges and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean Lakes Beach House, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, pet friendly on a small lake has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
