Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- To get the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the perfectvacation home:
- Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Ocean Lakes Beach House, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
More tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. text the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
