Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:

Getting the best rental value:

  • To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Narrow your Search:

  • First and foremost, have your group decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Myrtlewood golf condo- end unit, spacious, balcony w\/ pool view, 7 min to beach! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is right for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
