Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Radiant OF 3 Bedroom Condo 14th Floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is best for your vacation family.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or may be applied to your invoice.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. text the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
