Booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Ocean Lakes site 7011, Newly updated, perfect beach retreat. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation family.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
