How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Amazing Oceanfront Home has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is optimal for your family.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
Tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
