Booking the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefectrental:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Ocean Lakes Site S33 - Tiny House New to Rental Market has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
