Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean Lakes Site S33 - Tiny House New to Rental Market has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If they are not listed, email the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what is best for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you crave, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
