How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First, have your group commit to a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Beautiful Ocean View 2 BR & 2 BA on the Beach!!! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or could be applied to your invoice.
Know before you go:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
