Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick your prefectvacation home:
- Select vacation week and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Beautiful Ocean View 2 BR & 2 BA on the Beach!!! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation group.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
