How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Selecting and booking yourvacation home:
- First, have your group commit to trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Ocean View Condo steps away from the beach - 106 Brighton has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
