Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First and foremost, have your family commit to date ranges and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Ocean View Condo steps away from the beach - 106 Brighton has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
