Finding the best vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

More tips for your stay:

- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
