Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- To book the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best rental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Ocean View Queen Suite Accessible 2nd Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
