Booking the best rental home experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to select the best rental:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Recently updated Oceanfront Studio- Sea Mist 20306 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. Otherwise, email the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your trip.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your agreement.
Tips for a great stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
