Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have deals for nearby tours and attractions.
How to choose the perfect vacation home:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Ocean\/Boardwalk two blocks away. Close to restaurants and businesses has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your trip.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
