Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the best rental home:
- Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Ocean\/Boardwalk two blocks away. Close to restaurants and businesses has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or applied to your invoice.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
