Vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose your vacation week and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Ocean\/Boardwalk two blocks away. Close to restaurants and businesses has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
