Our top Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and choose the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanfront - Caravelle Resort 11th Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
