Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Filter your search:
- Start by selecting a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Brand new, ultra modern, Ocean Front King Condo with Quartz Counters! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
