Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Choose your dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Brand new, ultra modern, Ocean Front King Condo with Quartz Counters! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you love, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More considerations for your visit:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
