Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, change your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to select the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First and foremost, have your family decide on dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Breathtaking Views & Bliss in our Oceanfront Suite has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
