Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and picking yourvacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanfront 1 bedroom King suite- Ocean Forest Plaza 1911 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
