Strategies to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning and picking the rightrental:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Oceanfront 1 bedroom King suite- Ocean Forest Plaza 1911 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
