Getting the best rental home experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the best vacation home:
- Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Seawatch Resort ????Coastal Sunsets ???? 2 bedroom 2 bath has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs applied to your agreement.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
