Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
